We had a busy morning making the first three cards. Then in the afternoon we made the next two, and also made a start on the baubles. It was nice to see how you all added your own personal touches. Even if they were the odd finger print here and there!!!!! But we managed to incorporate them into the design š. And guess what......I forgot to take photos!!! š©

Sharon is brilliant and makes everyone so welcome. Her little shop is crammed full of a fabulous selection of craft goodies. Certainly worth a visit. The Forget me Not Kraft Kabin

Iāll be back there next year hopefully on a regular basis. I hope you managed to watch and saw how easy it is to make these. I chose to colour my acetate inserts. Amanda thought I had painted them with alcohol inks but I actually used Sharpie pens. Making sure I coloured the back of the acetate, not the side that the image is printed on. When you receive your kits you can actually feel the slightly rougher side which is the printed side. If you add any type of alcohol colour to this side it can affect the image. I also added some pearl drops and some glitter to the printed side of the acetate, allowing this to dry overnight before putting inside the bauble.

Instructions and kits can be found Here

Just want to mention that on the website it states to colour the printed side of the acetate but I found colouring the non printed side more successful.

Lynne Gilberthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07160673904199146927noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1074597836580278200.post-34012481025923039342018-08-01T02:59:00.006-07:002018-08-03T12:35:30.134-07:00Hochanda
This one of my DT samples for the Lavinia show on Hochanda tv. We were given 4 sets of stamps to work with and this set contains Autumn Fall and Climbing Ivy

If youād like to know how I did it, hereās a step by step tutorial:

Using Distress Oxides on Sheena Douglass Stamping card, measuring 6x6, I started by blending Squeezed Lemonade just off centre. Then without overlapping colours, added Abandoned Coral then Peacock Feathers as shown. I then went back in and blended the colours using Squeezed lemonade.

I then took this Andy Skinner stencil and spritzed with water. I laid it wet side down onto the background and allowed it to sit for a while. Then removed the stencil and blotted with kitchen towel. This gives a lovely bleached effect. The trick is not to use too much water otherwise it will leak around the stencil and youāll lose the pattern.

Curving the large Ivy stamp onto the acrylic block I stamped it around the outside edge using Aquamarine Archival.

Then did the same with the small Ivy and Sunflower Archival. I then stamped the Fairy with Black Archival and heat embossed her with clear embossing powder. Added some colour on her hair and wings then some pearl drops around the edge which you can see on the finished card at the top of this post.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. And this month the theme is āStamping with a Bluesā. One of my favourite go to colours! You can post your entry Here.

My first sample below was so quick to make. I used a geli plate print for the background, adding a circle mask and some Blueprint Sketch Distress ink around it. Then I stamped a selection of trees in four colours of Archival inks: Cornflower Blue, French Ultramarine, Manganese Blue and Cobalt. You can find a selection of colours Here and the tree selection Here. I then stamped the Fairy Foragers in Black Archival and highlited them with a Gelli roll sparkle pen. Also used it down the tree trunks and around the moon. I stamped Fairy words onto some tissue and tore around the words I wanted to use, then stuck in place with decoupage glue.

This second sample is similar to one Iāve done before. I love the simplicity of it and is great if you want a quick make! I blended Blueprint Sketch and Broken China Distress Oxides through a large circle stencil. Then I used a blending sponge with a little water and dabbed it randomly over the inks, then blotted with kitchen towel. I like the mottled effect it achieves. Leaving the stencil in place I āsplatteredā with gesso. Then I removed the stencil and covered the circle with the mask so I could splatter the border with diluted Oxides.....the colours used in the background. Finally I stamped the Sacred Tree in Cobalt blue Archival and embossed with clear embossing powder.

My final sample: I stamped the Spring Trees in Cobalt Archival. The small foliage stamps come with the trees and I used these to decorate the trees using Blue Violet and French Ultramarine Archival.

I blended Distress oxide around the edge then blotted some away by dipping my finger in water then blotting. I then dipped my finger in some Picked Raspberry diluted with mica water and dabbed around the edge.

I hope I can inspire you to join in the Challenge. Ā£40 worth of Lavinia vouchers up for grabs.

Good luck and thank you so much for visiting my blog. Then on the arch section I added some areas of crackle paste, followed by modelling paste through a Sheena stencil. Canāt remember the name but itās like a ledger page with leaves entwined. I also added more texture through an ivy stencil. No idea where I got that from!!!! Once dry I painted with PaperArtsy fresco paints and added some highlights with White Fire Treasure Gold.

I made a video Here showing how I created the background for the panel behind the door. I stamped with a selection of Lavinia stamps which Iāll add links to at the bottom of this post.

Itās for a little girl who loves sparkle......well who doesnāt!!!! So I added lots!!!!!

Thereās even real fairy dust in little glass bottles. You can enter Here

Here Iāve used the beautiful Fairy Foragers and the Fairy Hive. Both from the newest stamp release. I love these tiny fairies, so much detail in such small stamps and I just know they will be some of my go to stamps. And the Fairy Hive is adorable. Can you imagine finding one hanging from one of the trees in your garden. Just magical!

I created the background then stamped with Lavender, Willow Leaf, and one of the Whimsical Hares

I hope I can inspire you to create your own Childhood Dream. One person will be randomly selected to win Ā£40 in vouchers to spend on the Lavinia website.

GOOD LUCK! xxx

Lynne Gilberthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07160673904199146927noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1074597836580278200.post-41901924481009404012018-06-25T21:59:00.004-07:002018-06-30T14:38:56.681-07:00Well done ladies!
A few photos from last Saturdays workshop. Di Oliver and Tony from Tando work so hard to make the weekend run like clockwork, with the help of their elves!!! Andy Skinner wasnāt able to attend although he kept popping up in the most unlikely places!!! š¤£

The tutors Tzanidakis Antonis and Kate Crane were so inspirational and I learnt some interesting and new techniques with both. Two very different project and Iām thrilled with both. Then we were lucky enough to spend 2 hours in the evening doing a Make and Take with the lovely Brenda Brown.

Then to top it all Sue won the top prize in the raffle.......a free place on next Aprilās MOM.

SO ALL IN ALL A TRUELY FABULOUS WEEKEND!

Lynne x

Lynne Gilberthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07160673904199146927noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1074597836580278200.post-70917853316815628422018-05-31T02:41:00.002-07:002018-05-31T02:43:49.089-07:00Playing with Brushoās
Sharing a couple of samples today using the beautiful Simmi and Indian flourish. These stamps are so detailed and delicate ..... I love them.

Iāve used Brushoās for the backgrounds. In the first card Iāve sprinkled a tiny amount onto a large acrylic block then lightly spritzed with water that has some enchanted gold mica powder dispersed in it. Then āsplodgedā it onto the card!!! Love the effect you get where the mica pools in areas. Itās difficult to photograph but I hope you can just about see it.

In this second card Iāve used what I call a āCracked Iceā background. I used to use this technique a lot with Cosmic Shimmer misters, but Eileen Godwin has a video Here showing how to use the same technique with Brushoās. I must say that I prefer this because it allows you to leave more white space which I love. And I absolutely love how the mica collects in the folds of the cling film and leaves that lovely cracked ice effect.

Hope this inspires you to get out your Brushos! Have fun

Lynne x

Lynne Gilberthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07160673904199146927noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1074597836580278200.post-36813289101070828302018-05-30T14:16:00.005-07:002018-05-31T23:43:09.155-07:00June Lavinia ChallengeĀ
The new challenge over on Lavinia Stamps starts today and this month the topic is āSunset Pinksā.

Here are two of my DT samples. The first sample is a 6x6 card. The background is blended Distress oxides, Picked raspberry, Worn lipstick and Wilted violet. Iāve used the beautiful Daydreaming fairy and Wild poppies. Along with Creeping vine and the small Dragon

The second is a DL card. Again using Distress Oxides in the same colours with the addition of Seedless preserves. This time itās a āsmooshedā background. Love doing this as it gives a lovely random result, different every time. Iāve used the newly released Indian flourish embossed in gold, then outlined with a black fine liner to bring out the detail. The See a fairy, make a wish script was stamped in the background using Archival ink in a tonal colour. Then the new Feather was stamped along the bottom to give the impression of a forest.

Hope I can inspire you to enter. One lucky person will be randomly selected to win Ā£40 in Lavinia vouchers!!! Good luck š

Lynne x

Lynne Gilberthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07160673904199146927noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1074597836580278200.post-85718020856540950362018-05-22T15:13:00.001-07:002018-05-22T15:15:07.371-07:00New stamp release
Last weekend saw the release of four absolutely beautiful Lavinia stamps. You can find them Here

I love them all and have lots of ideas but at the moment very little time to get in the Craft room. Here Iāve used Sebastian the seahorse. Isnāt he just gorgeous?! Iāve stamped the Indian flourish around the edges. This is like a peacock feather but is so versatile and can be used as a background or filler as well as a feature stamp.

The background was done by blending the ink from a green and a blue sparkle pen. Starting with blue in the centre and working the green round the edges. Using some glycerin on the blending tool helps to obtain a nice smooth blend. I then picked up undiluted ink on a brush and splattered over the background. Itās a shame the photo doesnāt pick up the lovely sparkle.

Thank you for visiting. See you soon xxx

Lynne Gilberthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07160673904199146927noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1074597836580278200.post-41323658999844770772018-05-15T23:14:00.003-07:002018-05-15T23:20:27.749-07:00Orange and Black
A little reminder to enter this months Lavinia challenge. The theme is Bright and Beautiful so I thought this card was quite fitting. You could win Ā£40 to spend on Lavinia goodies...... youāve got to be in it to win it!!! Good luck š Enter here

Tony and Sammy are celebrating 9 years of marriage today. This is the card I made for them in the colours of their wedding. I used a Clarity mask/stencil to create the framed background. I love the deckled edges. Also Clarity mountain and hills mask. I so enjoy creating these scenic backgrounds using Distress oxides in Worn lipstick, Abandoned coral, Spiced marmalade, Wild honey, Antique linen and Black soot. The stamping was done with Archival inks. Then a bit of highlighting added with a fine white pen along with a few dots of diamond sticklers.

The stamps can be found here:

Willow leaf Small pixies Star gazing Lavender Skinny mushrooms Star group

Thank you for stopping by. Again using Distress Oxides to create the scene. A combination of colours: Worn lipstick, Absndoned coral, Wild honey, Antique linen and Black soot. I used a selection of different masks and stencils and built up the background before stamping the Willow across the top with Archival inks - Cactus flower and Monarch orange.

I then stamped the focal images in Black Archival. Skinny mushrooms and the beautiful Trinity. For the shadows I found the small stamp which comes with the Spring trees gave a lovely effect stamped with black Archival, 2nd 3rd and 4th generation.

I added glitter to the hair and wings and down one side of the mushrooms.

I love the colour combination and will be using it again. Hope you like it too xxx

Lynne Gilberthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07160673904199146927noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1074597836580278200.post-39888612389543736572018-05-09T10:36:00.005-07:002018-05-09T13:17:17.509-07:00Reflections!
Following a post by Amanda Branston I decided to do a reflection card. I have always used a brayer to do this but it can sometimes be a bit hit and miss. So for that reason it hasnāt been something I attempt regularly. But Amanda used a Gelli plate.......I have seen this on YouTube but have never given it a go.

Itās so easy and I will definitely be doing more. Iām not that happy with the composition of this, because I feel Iāve got too much water and not enough sky. But it was just a practice piece so Iāll get it right next time! š

I used Distress Oxides for the background. And the lovely Lavinia stamps linked below:

Felicity Dandilions Lavender Field grass Bugs Birds Butterflies

Hope you get a chance to give it a go. Iām a bit of a fan of butterflies.....well who isnāt?!

First, I blended Distress Oxide inks through a circle stencil. In this case I used Peacock feathers, Squeezed lemonade and Shaded lilac. Then using the same colours I randomly stamped the butterfly, overlapping in places.

I then watered down some white gesso, picked some up on a brush and flicked onto the background.

Then, I removed the stencil and flicked the white space with the oxide inks. Just add a small amount onto your craft mat, add some water, load a brush and flick onto the cardstock. I like the way this pulls everything together.

I then stamped the butterfly onto heat embossible acetate with black Archival ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. Then stuck this to a sheet of double sided adhesive. I removed the backing sheet and pressed it into Indigoblu Winter Dawn flakes. Pressed firmly and burnished.

Then the butterfly was cut out and stuck to the centre of the circle leaving the wings loose. I also edged some card with the same flakes and used this as a mat to tie everything together.

All layered onto a 7x7 card base.

Hope you like it xxx

This shows the detail on the background with the stamping and ink splatters.

Lynne Gilberthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07160673904199146927noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1074597836580278200.post-70984301359384544842018-05-05T15:18:00.001-07:002018-05-05T15:19:33.968-07:00Spring into Summer with Kay Carley
I spent a lovely day at The Forget me not Kraft Kabin in Rochford, Essex, attending Kay Carleyās lovely workshop. We made a very pretty card and matching coaster in the morning, then a 6x6 picture after lunch. PaperArtsy Fresco paints, Kay Carley stamps and masks.

Certainly would recommend attending one of Kayās workshops. I think sheās returning to the Kabin later this year.

Lynne Gilberthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07160673904199146927noreply@blogger.com0
