Keep Calm & Carry On!

How appropriate!!! These last few weeks have been manic to say the least. How on earth did I find time to do a full time job???!!! So I have just had to Carry On and try my hardest to Keep Calm! Katie is so much better and was able to come back to work with Bobby today. He is so pleased to have her back. Mind you we only have until Christmas and then she is off on maternity leave. I have been frantically trying to arrange suitable cover and we're almost sorted - I hope! Anyhow, I thought I would share with you the card I have made for Paul's birthday this Saturday. I'm banking on the fact that he never reads my blog! I don't think he even knows it exists so I'm 99.9% certain he won't see his card until his birthday. Well unless he ventures into my little crafty cupboard and climbs over the mound of boxes and papers without falling head first into the bin, which is overflowing with all the packaging from my new TH dies - which of course I just had to purchase!
I bought these stamps ages ago when we were all suffering from Olympic Fever! Well we were in this family. Loved every minute of it and we were lucky enough to get tickets for both the Olympics and Paralympics. Apart from that, Paul just LOVES London. He knows it like the back of his hand and likes nothing more than wandering around taking in the sights and the atmosphere. I can take it or leave it myself! I hate the crowds and the hustle and bustle. Give me the beautiful peaceful countryside any day! So I have finally used some of those stamps I purchased. I'll have to save the rest for next year! Hope you like it. TTFN LYNNExxx

Forget Me Not Workshop

Good evening all. Just a little peep at the card we will be making at Forget Me Not Kraft Kabin tomorrow morning. It is a brayering workshop so we will be doing some techniques on tags and then using our new found skills to create this card.
Using Adirondak dye ink pads along with the new Ink Blending Mat and a Speedball brayer. Definitely the best brayer on the market! Using this mat (Splodge mats are the same) makes the whole process so much easier and certainly saves ink, so it really is worth investing in one. They are also great for using with Distress inks for those who struggle to get a nice even blend then this will solve all your problems. Sharon sells the Ink Blending mat in her shop. Check on the Creative Expression website for your local suppliers (Link above) I will post some more picture tomorrow of our tags. TTFN Lynne XXX

Every day holds the possibility of a miracle

Just a quick post tonight. Busy getting ready for a brayering workshop, something I haven't done for a while so a bit of practice is required. Don't worry ladies, everything will be all right on the night!!!! Still not quiet sure what we might be doing but I'm sure that light bulb will spring into action over the next couple of days! Katie is still not feeling well. Back to see the Doc tomorrow because she has completed her course of antibiotics and still in pain! Bobby and I really miss her! So I'm off to Music, Knit and natter, pottery, bowling and dancing tomorrow! Doesn't leave me much prep time does it? Decided to post a piccie of a canvas we did at craft club earlier in the year. Everyone really enjoyed this project. Some not too keen on getting their fingers messy but there were some really lovely creations.
This second picture is another craft club project. Again another favourite with the ladies.
Sorry about the quality of the photos. I blame it on the camera (old one) not of course the photographer!!! While I'm here, just wanted to let you know about the new Creative Expressions Project Book. It will be appearing in Retailers shortly, priced at £4.99. Really good value for money, so why not give it a try?! Hope you all have a good week. TTFN Lynne

Workshop tonight!

Well what a few days I've had!!! First of all spent a really enjoyable time at Birds in the Barn on Sunday. Hels Sheridan was there casting her little bit of magic! She is so entertaining and a very talented lady. Her style is right up my street! Love love loved what she did!!!!! That's the nice bit done with! Now we get to the rest!!! Katie was admitted to hospital Sunday with terrible back pains. Anyone who knows her will realise why it was such a worry. She is 23 weeks pregnant and after her scare a couple of weeks ago when they told her there was something wrong with the baby-she really didn't need this! Still Baby is fine and Kate is feeling alot better this morning. She has a kidney infection and they think maybe a kidney stone. Poor girl. Our little grandson/daughter is being a real little pickle!!! So after much juggling with taking Bobby to and from all his activities---- I'm so going to miss Kate when she finishes working with Bobs! - I have finally finished prepping for tonight's workshop at Homegrown Crafts. Here are the two projects we'll be doing. We may only get one done but I always like to have another ready just in case.
We will be using two stamp sets from Creative Expressions: Winter Wonderland and Christmas Post. It is actually an introduction to distress inks so as you can see I've designed a very pretty card and then a more distressed vintage tag wallet. I think its nice for those not used to distress inks to see how they can be used to suit all styles. I absolutely could not live without them!!! So many different techniques but starting simply tonight. Hope you like! TTFN Lynne XXX

Craft Club Project

Last nights Craft Club was as busy as ever with 21 crafty people happily beavering away!. Just want to say Thanks to Sue for bringing along a box full of empty containers all crying out to be altered. She gave them away to anyone offering a good home, but guess what.... I missed out! Oh well, think I've got enough of a collection of boxes and such like to last me a lifetime!!!I thought I would just post a piccie of the project we did last night. It was quiet a mammoth task but I do hope everyone enjoyed the challenge! We made a notice board which has a removable calendar....attached with magnetic sheet so it can be replaced each year!!! Hows that for forward thinking??!! There is also a cover for a note book which again can be easily replaced when full, and even a little pocket for receipts or a gift card or message! The base board was covered with beautiful Prima papers from the Nature Garden Collection. Everyone chose their favourite and matched it with a contrast paper for the header board. All decorated with some lovely metal pieces and lots of butterflies...Always a favourite! I hope some of the ladies who came along last night will send me some pictures of their finished pieces because its always lovely to see how different they all look.
Hope you like this months project. Next Club meeting is Monday 3rd December. There will be lots of Festive nibbles and some Christmas crafting. TTFN Lynne xxx
